Dancing Like Nobody’s Watching You

This track is from a recent big band recording session at the famous Sound Emporium, in Nashville, TN, for Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, produced by yours truly.

It was such a thrill to stand in front of this amazing collection of talent and hear my arrangements come to life for the first time!

“Dancing…” is an original song written and sung here by the inimitable Adam Jones. Filling out the ensemble are members of the Nashville Jazz Orchestra. The MVP award for this project, however, goes to the masterful maestro, Mr. Dan Rudin, who engineered and mixed this record, and coached the band throughout the sessions. Under his gentle crop, the band recorded thirteen songs in two days! Quite an achievement. Enjoy!

Crying

This track is from the same Nashville session with Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra.

The ink was still wet on this chart – I finished at four a.m. the night before the session!

“Crying” is my interpretation of the Roy Orbison classic, performed here by the Equinox frontman Clay Johnson, who in my opinion, offers a rendition that gives ol’ Roy a run for his money 😉
